NNotionGitBackupTerms of Service

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of NotionGitBackup (the “Service”). By creating an account, connecting Notion and/or GitHub, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

Last updated: February 11, 2026
Please read carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who we are

NotionGitBackup provides tools to connect your Notion workspace and your GitHub account, configure one or more backup “roots” (pages and/or databases), and write snapshot files (for example Markdown and JSON) into a repository you control. The Service may also provide scheduling, job history, logs, and notifications.

These Terms are not legal advice. If you need legal advice, consult a qualified lawyer.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be able to form a legally binding contract to use the Service.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.

3. The Service

The Service lets you configure backups from Notion and store the resulting snapshot files in a GitHub repository you choose. Backups may run manually (“Run now”) or on a schedule depending on your configuration and entitlement status.

Important limitation

Notion’s API and platform limitations can affect what data is accessible, how fast backups can run, and what can be restored. The Service is intended as a backup and audit trail. It does not guarantee perfect fidelity or a complete restore in all cases.

4. Your content and backups

4.1 Your content

You retain all rights to your content in Notion and to the repositories you control on GitHub. You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights and permissions to back up any content you select, including content that belongs to third parties.

4.2 Where backups go

Snapshot files produced by the Service are written into the GitHub repository you select (and its branches/paths as configured). You are responsible for controlling access to that repository, including whether it is public or private, and for any consequences of publishing sensitive information.

4.3 We do not promise recovery

While the Service is designed to provide a reliable backup history, you acknowledge that restoration outcomes depend on Notion’s capabilities, your repository history, and other factors outside our control. You should periodically verify that backups meet your needs.

5. Third-party services

The Service integrates with third-party services such as Notion and GitHub. Your use of those third-party services is governed by their terms and policies, and you are responsible for complying with them.

  • You may need to explicitly share Notion pages/databases with the integration to permit access.
  • You may need to install a GitHub App and grant repository permissions in order for the Service to write snapshots.
  • Notion and GitHub may impose rate limits, access restrictions, or other operational constraints that impact backup performance.

Notion and GitHub are trademarks of their respective owners. NotionGitBackup is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Notion or GitHub.

6. Subscriptions, trials, billing

6.1 Trial

The Service may offer a free trial. If a free trial is available, it begins when you first gain meaningful access to the Service (for example, after you connect required integrations and/or create a backup configuration) and ends automatically at the stated time. After the trial ends, backups may be paused unless you subscribe.

6.2 Subscription

If you subscribe, you agree to pay the fees displayed at checkout (including any applicable taxes). Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel to stop future renewals.

6.3 Trial expiry behavior

  • After a trial expires without an active subscription, scheduled backups may stop, and manual runs may be disabled.
  • You will still be able to sign in and view your settings, configurations, and run history.
  • If a backup run is in progress when the trial expires, it may stop at a safe checkpoint boundary. Existing commits already written to your repository are not rolled back.

6.4 Refunds

To the extent permitted by law, fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable consumer protection laws or where we expressly provide otherwise in writing.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service. For example, you will not:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or data.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by overloading it.
  • Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or infringing activities.
  • Bypass or attempt to bypass usage limits or entitlement checks.

We may enforce reasonable usage limits to protect the Service and third-party APIs, including rate limiting, queueing, and temporary throttling.

8. Security

We implement reasonable technical measures designed to protect the Service and your account. For example, access tokens may be stored encrypted at rest, and the Service is designed to avoid logging secrets. However, no system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for securing your Notion and GitHub accounts, including enabling security features offered by those providers (such as multi-factor authentication).

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by NotionGitBackup and its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your internal and personal/business use in accordance with these Terms.

You may not copy, modify, create derivative works, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service except to the extent permitted by law.

10. Disclaimers

As-is; no warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that backups will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free, or that they will capture every possible piece of content in every scenario. You are responsible for configuring your backup roots and verifying that your backup output meets your needs.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NotionGitBackup and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NotionGitBackup’s total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid to NotionGitBackup for the Service in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation, or certain statutory consumer rights.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the security or integrity of the Service.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease. Your repository history and any backup files already written to your GitHub repositories will remain under your control, subject to GitHub’s policies and your own repository settings.

13. Changes to the Service/Terms

We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, by posting an update in the Service). Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

Contact

For support or questions about these Terms, use the contact method provided in the Service (for example, the support email shown in the app’s Settings) or the support channel specified at checkout.
